Water, clay, fire, skilled hands and creativity - has been the core recipe for Venetian ceramics for centuries
Bosa, the ceramic industry renowned around the world settled in a corner of the Venetian countryside. From there it produces ceramic objects and accessories that express the full range of its crafting expertise and ceaseless experimentation with the potential of ceramic.
As part of his Das Haus installation at IMM Cologne 2013, we designed a custom pot to house an exotic evergreen plant, carefully selected to match the function of its domestic situation. By fusing the functional simplicity of the Scandinavian tradition with the techniques of the Italian, the Das Haus Pot (2013) helps to create an appealing living space. An initial limited edition of 350 pots were signed by Luca Nichetto and feature the Das Haus logo.

Growing up in Venice, Luca Nichetto spent his childhood surrounded by the traditional craftsmanship of glass blowing and ceramic casting. To pay tribute to these processes, the Essence collection (2009 / 2010) echoes the tools used by master artisans – seldom seen by outsiders – and puts their forms to new uses using two main materials: Murano glass and ceramic. The result is a group of vases, bowls, candle holders and small objects. Essence Uno is a vase inspired by wooden glass-shaping moulds. Essence Due is a bowl that resembles centrifugal glass-shaping moulds. Essence Tre is an ashtray inspired by glass extrusion techniques. Essence Quattro is a vase based on the plaster mould used to shape poured ceramic. Essence Cinque is a candle holder inspired by the practice of using moulds to cast materials. Essence Sei is a side table inspired by the lathes used to decorate glass and produce ceramics. Essence Sette is a multifunctional container inspired by the crates used to ship merchandise. Essence Otto is a coat rack that references the storage of glass-makers’ blowpipes.

Lunar (2008) is a set of cast ceramic bowls, with a glossy surface inspired by the glowing appearance of the moon. Lunar bowls come in three strikingly varied round shapes, and work both individually or together to elegantly present an array of sauces, salads and side dishes. Like the moon, they are double-faced, and on both internal and external sides.Umbravase (2007) is a vase cast in ceramic that also functions as an umbrella stand. Umbravase has an organic form and earthy colouration and can also be used as a distinctive pot for large plants.
Hook Box (2005) is a multipurpose ceramic storage unit that includes a box for holding items and a lip on which clothes can be hung. Lunar is a set of cast ceramic bowls, with a glossy surface inspired by the glowing appearance of the moon. Lunar bowls come in three round shapes and just like the moon, are double-faced.
