Case Study

Coedition is a French editor of contemporary high-end furniture, created in 2014. Their catalogue was born from extensive research, patient development and heartfelt collaborations. The company offers furniture for various habitats: homes, public spaces, receptions, restaurants, hotels.

DESIGNED LIKE A WARM EMBRACE

You (2017) is a collection of sitting furniture that explores a design capable of transmitting a warm feeling, like the familiar enveloping gesture of a comforting embrace.

DISTILLED YOU

You, in the dining chair version, synthesizes all the features of its bigger sisters, bringing around the table the iconic curves and softness of its welcoming shape. The enhanced comfort of the sitting remains preserved by its large seat and in the roundness of the backrest.

We designed the You sofa as a big soft glove that contains and holds, providing an experience of unique comfort. The large seat and rounded back avoid any postural stiffness in favor of a freer sitting. The lounge chair has a large seat and backrest to infuse the sensation of being held.

SPACES

In 2018, Coedition opened its first showroom at 71 Avenue Bosquet, Paris 7th, designed by our Studio. For this project we have explored an architecture that is disengaged from a realistic and analytical approach. We juxtaposed playful colours over the hardness of concrete materials, breaking the cement tones and the monolithic rigor of the facade with joyful shapes. The elements on the outer walls are prolonged inside, becoming coloured figures spelling the word Coedition.

On occasion of Salone del Mobile 2017 and 2019 we’ve curated the Coedition’s stands conceived as compendiums of the company’s visual identity.
