Fornasarig, is a four generations’ family owned and operated company. Starting in 1878, Fornasarig can boast one of the longest histories in the world of seating manufacturing. The company produces innovative design seating for contract environments. Their products are supplied to hotels, restaurants, bars, meeting rooms, conventions rooms, university, banks, cruise ships, lounges, waiting rooms.

The famous statement of Bruno Munari “The egg has a perfect shape […]”. inspired Etabeta chair (2017). The 2D egg look, with the narrow seat and the large backrest marks the base of Etabeta’s curvy and friendly design. Etabeta has a universally recognizable shape that instantly creates empathy with its users.

In 2011, our Studio extended its practice outside Italy, moving to Stockholm and joining Studio Wolfgang. To celebrate this new collaborative chapter in our practice, we designed the Wolfgang family of chairs, which are inspired by the material-sensitive precedent of furniture makers Hans J Wegner and Michael Thonet. 

Wolfgang chairs, stools, armchairs, lounge, ottoman and tables in a variety of sizes constitute the rich collection.

Five years after the launch of the initial range, we pushed the collection in bold new directions. A new version of the Wolfgang Chair replaces the original’s wooden frame with a slender metal one.

The pieces retain the original architectural curvature, while decreasing its weight to allow easy stackability, portability and storage.
