&Tradition is a Danish design company established in 2010 with the purpose of bridging old and new by creating objects with timeless appeal. From reissuing design icons to creating future classics in collaboration with international designers, their collection consists of pieces with purpose and meaning made to last.

A PLAYFUL MARBLE APPLE

The minimalist elegance of Lato Table (2018) echoes the inherent playfulness of a caramelised apple image. The base in marble hides a steel core to which is anchored the slim tubular pole that connects the base to the top. Available in two versions, ivory white with light marble base and warm black with dark marble base and different heights and dimensions, it can be used as a side or a coffee table.

ISLAND AND BRIDGES

Together with Nendo and inspired by Japanese poetry, we virtually co-created a modular sofa system via a process of exchanging ideas. The outcome is Isole (2017), Italian for “islands”. 

A sofa concept enabling a variety of combinations and configurations, including with and without an “island” arm cushion version. Variations include a discrete round, square or rectangular side table that beautifully integrates with the overall aesthetics.

SITTING ON A CLOUD

Like its meteorological namesake, the Cloud (2015) family of seating appears to float weightlessly above the ground. The pieces (ottoman, armchair, and two and three-seater sofas) all feature soft cushions atop an upholstered solid wood base, which is supported by elegant steel legs and a high back version. In 2017 we presented Cloud High back with a tall wraparound upholstered solid wood back for more privacy and sense of protection
