Case Study
Kristalia
Furnishing items that take their conceptual cues from art and the laws of physics
Kristalia was founded by young entrepreneurs joined by two common passions: design and jazz. From the start, Kristalia paid special attention to innovative projects, by means of experimentation and the continuing search for new technical solutions, using materials adapted from the fashion and sports sector. The catalogue tells the story of more than twenty years of constant interaction with an ever growing family of designers that includes interesting names on the contemporary scene.
SLENDER LINES AND THE SARTORIAL DETAILS
In Tenso sofa system (2018) concept embodies the notion of an inherent tension between its components, keeping elements firmly suspended and open like a welcoming embrace. The slender lines and the sartorial details emphasise the softness of the upholstery in fabrics or leather. The modularity of the tubular structure adapts to the different sizes of the seating, while the backrest enhances the comfort by adding a headrest with adjustable inclinations.

MIRÓ AND CALDER
The design of the Constellations coffee table is a tribute to the professional and personal encounter between Alexander Calder and Joan Miró: squares, semi ellipses and circles can be freely combined to create compositions of surfaces with various thickness and textures. Available in a variety of colours and materials, the tops sit on a such a discrete metal structure that appears almost invisible, creating the effect of levitating.LIGHTWEIGHT AND CONVENIENTLY STACKABLE
The Face chair (2005) can be placed either beneath a table or on its own. Combining functionality with comfort, Face’s lightweight form lets it be stacked conveniently, while the hole in its backrest aids the natural flexibility of the user’s back and facilitates carrying.Credits:
