Decorative objects inspired by the unexpected equilibrium of central America's Modernist architecture
Streamers incorporate into their designs the captivating elements they encounter during a journey across Mexico. They draw inspiration from the harmonious balance found in Central American Modernist architecture, which combines unexpected yet solid structures with elegant volumes.
The candle holder consists of a series of geometrical objects combined in different variations or fixed combinations.
Candles stand still like playing with the balance with the multi-shaped holders, never centered over their base where brass, silver, marble and stones create a dialogue between materials.
Luca’s childhood memory of his grandmother polishing the brass doorknobs of her traditional Venetian house and the realization the engraved areas remained darker due to oxidation inspired Timeline (2011). The brass bowl that plays on the same principle, features grooves that get darker with the time. Each bowl is uniquely refinished by oxidation, creating a striking dialogue between light and darkness and giving Timeline an antique feel.
