Cheburashka

Named for the classic Soviet cartoon character with two enormous rounded ears, Cheburaskha is a table-set consisting of a pot with a lid, two cups and a spoon. It was designed in collaboration with Lera Moiseeva. After being formed on a potter’s wheel and dried, Cheburaskha’s red clay is polished, fired in 950° heat and smoke, then finished with beeswax from Russian beekeepers, creating a smooth, dark surface. With its double-handled pot and matching cups, Cheburashka encourages communal eating and ancient, multicultural traditions around sharing.
