Les Poupées

Les Poupées, named after the French word for dolls, is a single object that combines two functions: vase and candle holder. Composed of a larger ceramic torso and a small blown glass head, Les Poupées resembles an abstracted form of a human body. Les Poupées is inspired by the pure aesthetic of the Finnish glassmaker Timo Sarpaneva, the bold colours of Italian architect Ettore Sottsass and Japanese kokeshi wooden dolls, which famously lack arms and legs.
