Little Big Ear

When the young Swedish accessory brand Smaller Objects commissioned Luca Nichetto to contribute to its range, its three founders – architects Mårten Claesson, Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune – asked him to create a very small object indeed. They settled on an espresso cup, the smallest expression of Italy’s great tradition of coffee, and Little Big Ear was born. The design combines purity and beauty, with its elegant handle representing the minimum area required to hold a cup between two fingers while still feeling balanced in your hand. The design is sleekly timeless and its porcelain surface evokes the soft clay of the natural world. Delicate yet sturdy, Little Big Ear is shaped to let those drinking from it best experience the aroma of fine coffee.
